Intentionally Untitled: whenever someone says that arranged marriages never work
The matter here isn’t about love, it’s about personal freedom and LIBERTY. Arranged marriages are incompatible with these ideals and are thus OBJECTIVELY WRONG. Coercing or forcing someone into a contract or arrangement is the epitome of denying personal freedoms that should be enjoyed by every human.

Thanks for explaining the concept of personal liberty to us, whitey. Now I understand, like I didn’t before, that every woman and every man who enters into an arranged marriage is coerced and abused and stripped of their rights and dignity by their mean awful evil parents and community.

This feel oddly like some form of archaic imperialism over the internet. The whole argument gives me this weird “oh your poor culture and your backward ways, let me save you by telling you how wrong you are with my western liberty and songs of freedom!” vibe. It’s funny how far we’ve come as a society without actually going anywhere at all, huh?
