Seriously, fuck the academy.

wow. wow. wow.

I would rather War Horse win than a movie featuring a really violent rape scene. But that’s just me.

But really, I just want the dog movie to win all the awards. I want the Jack Russell Terrier in a god damn tux on Oscar night and I want him on stage to receive the award. That’s what I want.

Um.

Yes, it had a violent rape scene, but Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a political film, about violence against women.

I mean, that scene was required. It was horrific and terrifying and completely sickening and I’ve never actually seen anyone film a rape scene and manage to convey just how goddamn horrible rape actually is. They did that, in this movie.

Hm, not really that familiar with the academy and how they view remakes, but idk, i didn’t find Girl with the Dragon Tattoo terribly different from the Swedish version?  I mean I actually like the remake better but only by a small margin.  I have no idea if the fact that it’s essentially the same movie play any factor into whether or not it was nominated.
