i usually overestimate how long it takes me to get to class, so i’m usually about 10-15 minutes early.  so i get to class and there’s two guys there already and they’re talking, so i just sort of quietly sit in my usual 2nd row seat.  i’m looking through my reading notes when i hear this guy say “it’s racist that they let asians in the same class as everyone else, they really mess up the curve.”  both of the guys were white and i was the only asian in the room so i couldn’t help but think it was because i came in that the guy thought about that and although i usually don’t let stupid remarks like that get to me, it really pissed me off.

they went on to have an actual serious discussion about how asians should have their own “special” smart class so they didn’t screw up everybody else’s grades.  what is that even?
