Lola is waiting for me to throw her toy so we can continue our game of fetch that has been going on since midnight.
i seriously have not slept for more than 15 minutes at a time. really, really should not have taught a cat how to play fetch. it’s like her favorite thing now.

Everything on the internet told me to keep them apart for a few days, that they probably wouldn’t accept each other until 1-2 weeks, and to never leave them together unsupervised. I don’t know, this might be good advice, but keeping them separate just seemed to cause Rocky a lot of distress. He was just so curious about Lola. And the few times I allowed supervised visits, they ended up fighting and hissing and just not getting along. So this morning, when I was at work, Sean apparently was late or rushing or something and just let them alone together. When we got home they were hanging out like they’d been best friends forever. I guess they hashed out their differences without us.
Lola just curled up between my legs and Rocky saw that she moved and got up to join her. So now I have two cats on my legs. :3
A few months ago, we bought two toy tigers at a Walmart during a vacation in Austin. One was white and one was orange. I don’t know what prompted us to buy them, but we did and somehow they came to represent the two of us. The white tiger was me and the orange one was him. At the time, we weren’t living together, so we split them up. I kept his tiger and he kept mine.
I knew he thought it was silly. He’s not really a stuffed animals kind of guy. I ended up losing the orange tiger in a motel a few weeks after buying it, so when we finally moved in together, we only had the one white tiger. He called it the little Melissa tiger.
Two nights ago, we got into our biggest fight yet. I was too angry to sleep in the same bed as him, so I slept on the futon in the living room. When I woke up, I saw him sleeping in our bed hugging the little white tiger to his chest.
On a completely unrelated note, I put some peppermint extract in my vanilla soy hot chocolate and it is amazing.
this is one of my favorite pictures of him, but he doesn’t like it because apparently he doesn’t like his face at this angle, which is ridiculous.
