I think it’s weird that Starbucks likes to put themselves out there as a company that embraces diversity
but doesn’t allow their employes to have visible tattoos.
I could understand if the tattoos were obscene or there were boobies in your face but other than that I don’t see what the big fucking deal is.
Yeah. I got lucky since the store I transferred to doesn’t really enforce the dress code policy. Everybody has their tattoos all out and about. Mine’s on my back so I never get to show it off. :(
oh,hi.
Enver is spending the night with his dad. I’m used to the four hours of quiet punctuated by intense shrieking, so now I can’t sleep. Not sleeping, drinking copious amounts of tea, and reading various texts to refresh for my job interview this week.
I head to New York in a couple days. Bobby said I can crash on their sofa, so I’m probably staying through Halloween. I’m excited and anxious and ready for some new challenges. I have no idea if I’m doing the right thing—at this point taking the job may be entirely selfish, but I’m also pretty okay with that.
ALSO, recommendations for a good tattoo artist in NYC would be greatly appreciated since that information should soon be highly relevant to my interests.
East Side Ink. Where I’ve gotten all my ink. They’re a little bit on the pricey side ($100 minimum, then $200/hr for bigger, more time-consuming ink) but you pay for what you get. If you go with them, I’d recommend checking out their artists on the website, then calling ahead to make a reservation. They take walk-ins, too, but I always feel better with an appointment.
Plus: reviews!
